Classic
and beautiful, this Navajo Dead Pawn ring is a lovely example of Native
American craftsmanship. This ring holds two oval coral stones
accented by silver raindrops and two silver leaves, bending dramatically
around the stones. The
stones each measure approximately ¾” x ½” and are set in serrated
bezel and each flanked by silver rope twist.
This is a beautiful and striking ring with its twin stones
tastefully offset and decorated with such a lovely design.
The smaller of the two stones does have a crack in it but this does not
affect the integrity of the piece. This
size 4 ring measures 1 ¼” at its widest point and nearly 1 ½” at
its longest point. It is
not marked sterling but has been tested and is guaranteed!

| *For
the Southwestern Native American, pawn refers to the practice of
converting artwork and possessions into income for life's necessities.
Pawn can also be items from antiquity, heirloom pieces of handmade
jewelry or craft, passed from a family into the public marketplace.
Because much of the pawned merchandise is of real day-to-day value in
the seller's life, the percentage of pawn that goes unredeemed is small,
about five percent. Merchandise that remains for sale after expiration
is referred to as "dead pawn", and items of dead pawn are
among the most highly valued Native American artifacts to be found on
the open market.
